On 7th March Julie once again visited Highcliffe School for World book Day to give a talk on what Christchurch was like in the eighteenth century and undertake two class workshops on places in writing.

Julie said: ‘I love working with students at Highcliffe School. They are always interesting and come up with some amazing ideas and stories. They are so lucky to have a well-stocked library and a librarian who does so much to engender a love of reading for pleasure. Working also with the English Department and the Assistant Director of Learning it is great to see how writing is promoted.’

After the event a meeting was held to further plans previously put forward for an activity day where Julie would ‘Guide’ students on a day trip around places in Christchurch involved with smuggling.

‘I need to go away and think about how I will present this, it’s a really exciting challenge,’ said Julie.
